 University of Mumbai (UoM)

University of Mumbai is one of the oldest premier University in India established in the year 1857. The profile of this University carved out in 161 years of its functioning attests to its manifold achievements as the intellectual and moral powerhouse of the society.

The independence of the country led to the re-organization of the functions and powers of the University with the passing of the Bombay University Act of 1953.

It has two campuses of areas 14 acres and 243 acres at Fort and Kalina respectively. Sub campuses/centers at Ratnagiri, Thane and Kalyan with 56 University Departments & Institutes and 749 affiliated colleges approximately. It has established its name in industrial & International collaborations and runs various professional courses.

At national level, it has excelled in sports, cultural and out-reach activities. Twelve Department/sections are recognized under various national programs, such as SAP/CAS/DRS/DSA/COSIST/FIST. 18 National/International awards are won by teachers in the last five years. Every year about 20 teachers visit abroad for academic activities.

 The Institution of Engineering and Technology (The IET)

 The IET is one of the world’s largest engineering institutions with over 1,68,000 members in 150 countries. It is also the most multidisciplinary body to reflect the increasingly diverse nature of engineering in the 21^stcentury.The IET is working to engineer a better world by inspiring, informing and influencing its members, engineers and technicians, and all those who are touched by, or touch, the work of engineers to meet the needs of society.

KJSIEIT is an Affiliate Academic Partner with The IET since last 4 years with active Student Chapter at Mumbai Local Network level. KJSIEIT-IET initiates, organizes and participates actively in all the IET Mumbai Local Network activities broadly encouraging young engineers and practitioners for knowledge sharing with the intention of social relevance serving community at large.
